By now, you should have already realized the importance of having your own website.
There are lots of different ways to create websites. You can create them manually like the good old-fashioned static html sites, or use some kind of CMS (content management system) like Joomla or Wordpress.
In this post, I’m going to share with you why you need to have your own website in the form of a blog.
There are 6 reasons why I highly recommend you create your website using a blog platform:
1. Blogs are easy and fast to create
I mean it when I say this.
Blogs are really easy to create. You don’t even have to know HTML or PHP and you can create a blog in a matter of seconds.
I’m not exaggerating. You really can create your own blog super fast and not know a thing about coding or programming (although if you know a little HTML it would really help if you want to edit the layout or theme).
2. You can update your blog easily
With blogs, you can update the content of your blog easily. ![]()
You simply need to type what you want to write and then click the “publish” button, and your updated content will appear on your blog instantly.
No more opening up your FTP program just to update the content on your blog.
3. Blogs are easy to maintain
You control your blog from 1 admin control panel.
This control panel is intuitive, so you can guess easily what the different options and buttons are for.
And the best thing is, everything can be done by simply pointing and clicking your mouse. No technical skills required, although it will certainly help.
4. Search engines love blogs
Whenever you make a new blog post, your blog pings the different search engines letting them know that there are fresh content on your blog.
Search engines, especially Google, love fresh content. ![]()
If your site is currently only a HTML site, try adding a blog into your site. As Jonathan Leger pointed out, adding a blog to your site can boost your site’s ranking in Google.
5. You can communicate with visitors
With blogs, you have the ability to communicate with your visitors via the blog comments feature. This is Web 2.0!
You make a blog post, your visitors read it, and if they have any questions or feedback they can use the blog comments feature to convey their messages.
In this way, you get to build relationships with your visitors since you can communicate back and forth with them. ![]()
After you have successfully built great relationships with your visitors so that they trust you, it will be a lot easier to sell them products and services.
This means more profit for you.
6. Placebo effect
When you regularly update your blog with fresh and beneficial content, people are going to assume that you know what you are talking about since your blog seems (at least in their eyes) to be up-to-date with the latest developments and news related to your field.
When your blog starts to become crowded with people leaving comments on it, your visitors are also going to assume that your blog is popular and they will associate this popularity with authority.
What I mean is that they will see you as an authority in your field.
When you are regarded as the authority in your field, people are going to buy from you! ![]()

In today’s world where everyone and his company are trying to sell you something, people are getting more wary about being sold to these products and services. This is why you must learn how to stand out in a crowd.
According to CBS News, the average person is exposed to up to 5,000 ads per day. And that figure is in 2006. In 2008, you can expect that number to be even higher.
Wow! Can you imagine that? 5,000 ads per day? ![]()
This explains why as time progresses, more and more people are becoming more immune to these ads or marketing messages.
For example, if you are watching a TV program and the commercial comes in, what do you typically do? Switch to other channels or go to the bathroom or do something else, of course!
How many people do you think actually sit down and watch the commercials? Granted, there are people who do that, but I strongly believe that number is very insignificant.
“Now what has this got to do with us Internet Marketers?” you might ask.
Well of course it has everything to do with us, especially if we make money by selling products and services to people.
It doesn’t matter if its Internet marketing or offline marketing, as long as you sell products and services to people, this has everything to do with you.
If you just follow along with what everyone is doing or has already done, then you will not stand out from the crowd and nobody is going to notice you, unless you have already established a brand of your own in your niche.
If you are unique and stand out from the crowd in a positive way, people will notice and recognize you. This, in turn, will make it easier for you to sell your products and services to them.
So how can you be unique and stand out from the crowd? Well, here are 2 ways:
1. Give value first, receive second
This is one of the best advices I can give to any marketer out there. Like I said before, this does not apply only to online businesses; it very well also applies to offline businesses as well.
When everyone is doing their sales pitches to prospective customers, you give value to them without expecting anything in return.
Well, actually you are expecting something in return, and that is to hope that they find value in what you have given them so that they trust you and eventually buy from you.
But my advice is you should really expect nothing in return, and just give value to them first, regardless of whether they will buy your products or not.
Have you heard of the saying “Give and you shall receive”?
Well this couldn’t be truer! ![]()
Once again, just concentrate on striving to give value first to your prospective customers, and they will buy from you eventually.
2. Provide excellent customer service
Most business owners and marketers fail to realize the importance of providing great customer service to their clients. ![]()
Sadly, once their customers have bought something from them, they neglect their customers by providing poor customer service or no customer service at all.
After customers hand in their money, these marketers say “goodbye” to them.
These business owners and marketers are only concerned in making new sales every day, which means they have to find new customers every single day.
They fail to understand that to get a happy, existing customer to buy again is much easier and cheaper than acquiring new customers.
This is because to get new customers, you first need to convince them that you are the authority in your field and you also need to convince them to trust you. This requires effort and time.
Compare this with a customer who has previously bought from you and are satisfied with your product and the great customer service you have provided.
Which one do you think is easier to convince to buy your just-released product?
There is probably, another method for us Internet Marketers that we can use to stand out from the crowd of all other Internet Marketers in your niche.
Now for the sake of beginners, let me just explain what an opt-in form is. Intermediate and advanced marketers, please bear with me a little okay?
If you take a look at the upper right area of this blog where it says “Free Internet Marketing Scoop”, you will notice that there are two fields where you can enter your first name and email.
This is known as an opt-in form. The purpose of this opt-in form is to collect the data (first name and email) of this blog’s readers, so that I build a list of prospective customers on a consistent basis so that I can contact them later on.
If you have been marketing online for a while now, you should know that most marketers ask for your name and email when you opt-in to become their subscribers.
Now, just a few days ago, Ryan Deiss explained a trick that you can try to increase your opt-in rate. The trick is to ditch the name field so that people only need to enter their emails in order to opt-in. There is no need to enter the first name.
For his case, he managed to increase his opt-in rate by 5-8%. Of course this figure may not apply to you because different niches respond differently.
As for myself, I have not tested removing the name field yet because of other more important tasks at hand that I need to complete. ![]()
But it never hurts to try! So if you have the time, go ahead and test it out for yourself. Me and my blog readers would appreciate you sharing your results here, so if you do try it out, please let us know your results okay? ![]()
Be sure to implement the 2 tips that I’ve just shared with you above on how to stand out in a crowd.

Almost every Internet Marketer or anyone that I meet admits that they have difficulties staying focused on their goals.
Well, even though this is the case, they are still a lot better than those people who do not have any goals at all.
Most of the time, they find it difficult to stay focused on their goals because there are a lot of distractions out there.
You know, those get-rich-quick-schemes that spread like viruses all over the Internet, and those emails about receiving a humongous amount of inheritance from some middle east countries.
I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of the saying “if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is”
In this article, I’d like to show you 6 ways on how you can focus on your goals:
1. Chop your big goal into smaller goals
Do you know how to eat an elephant?
Before you exclaim “No way! That’s impossible!”, what if I say that to eat an elephant, you simply cut it into small pieces and put those pieces into your mouth?
If your goal is too big, it is very hard for you to stay focus.
Let’s say that your current goal is to achieve $10,000 nett profit/month from your Internet business. Maybe $10,000 nett profit/month may sound out of reach for you, and you feel a little discouraged by that huge figure.
Now what you can do is chop or cut your $10,000/month goal into smaller, more achievable goals such as $1,000/month for the next 3 months, and $3,000/month for the next 6 months, then $5,000/month for the next 12 months, and $10,000/month for the next 18 months.
Chopping your big goal into smaller, more “human-like” goals will motivate you to work harder on achieving them because they are more achievable and your confidence will definitely grow as well.
2. Focus only on the goal that you want to achieve
A lot of folks, myself included, tend to lose focus when they are working on their businesses.
It does not apply only to Internet Marketing. I’m talking about all kinds of businesses, whether online or offline. Everyone must have lost their focus at some point.
For example, let’s say that your goal is to achieve $3,000/month from affiliate marketing.
This means that the only activities that you ought to be doing are those that are geared towards how to make money from affiliate marketing. Such activities may include driving traffic to your sites, or how to build and maintain good relationships with your customers.
However you and I both know this is not always the case. Sometimes Often, you might wander off browsing and participating in forum discussions about HYIP or Forex, which have nothing to do with your goal!
My advice is to only do those things that have a direct impact in helping you achieve your goal. As for the rest, you can forget about them, at least for the time being.
3. Set a specific dateline for you goal
Simply knowing your goal is not enough, you need to set a specific dateline as to WHEN you want to achieve it.
Typically when we are asked when we are going to achieve our goals, our answers revolve around “as soon as possible”, “the sooner the better”, “next year”, or “2 years from now”, etc.
Do not use these words because they are very vague! ![]()
What does “as soon as possible” or “the sooner the better” mean? Tomorrow? Next week?
What does “next year” or “2 years from now” mean? January? December?
When you set a dateline, be specific. For example, setting a dateline like “5 Septermber 2009″ works great because it is specific.
You see, our brain works a lot better if your goal and the dateline for your goal is specific. ![]()
4. Remind yourself on a consistent basis what your goal is
Often, we set our goals today only to forget about them in the next few days or weeks.
This is why you must remind yourself on a consistent basis what your goal is.
Write your goal clearly with a big font size on your whiteboard so that you can see it every day.
If you don’t have a whiteboard, you can write your goal on your computer wallpaper or cell phone wallpaper, or just anywhere you like. The point is to make sure you can easily see it every day, so that you always aware of what your goal is and not lose focus along the way.
5. Inspire and motivate yourself
One of the best ways to inspire and motivate yourself is to find out the people in your niche who have already succeeded, and watch, listen, and feel their success.
How much money do they earn every month? What have they done with these money that they have earned? What have they done for themselves or for their families? What kind of lifestyles do they now currently enjoy?
When you are feeling down or frustrated and everything seems to not go your way, stop your work for a moment and imagine yourself having achieved success like these people. Imagine the money that you would have had, and the lifestyle that this kind of money would bring.
By doing this, you will recharge your “down” state so that you become inspired and motivated to work towards your goal once again. ![]()
6. Eliminate all distractions while you are focusing on your work
If you really want to focus on your work so that you can achieve your goal, then you should eliminate all distractions.
What I mean by this is that you turn off your Yahoo Messenger, Skype, MSN (unless you use them strictly for work purposes), Facebook, MySpace, your favorite non-work-related forum, Outlook, your cell phone, and of course your TV.
Why?
Because they are total distractions in getting your work done for the day.
I’m not saying that you can’t casually chat with your friends or check your personal email or Facebook account, it’s just that you should set aside a specific time for these non-productive activities, so that they will not distract you when you are working.
By doing this, you are bound to increase your productivity!
So there you have it, the 6 ways to stay focused on your goals.
Do let me know in a comment below what your thoughts are, or if you have anything to add that I might have missed, I would be happy to hear them ![]()

I have been really busy these past few weeks preparing for the launch of my brand new product which is going to be released this Wednesday, August 6 2008.
However this product is made in the Indonesian language and specifically catered to the Indonesian people.
If you’re wondering why I made my new product in the Indonesian language, it’s because I am from Indonesia and I want to help my home people learn about Internet Marketing.
Most of the time they have difficulty buying Internet Marketing products out there on the market to educate themselves about IM because of their limited English skills. So here I am and I want to show them how they can make real money too from the Internet
This new product of mine that is going to be launched in just 2 days time is actually my third IM product in the Indonesian language.
The first two went very well when they were launched back a few months ago, and they are still bringing me in consistent money every day, right as we speak this moment.
If you’re at all interested in finding out more about my Indonesian IM blog and the two products that I currently have, you can click here to see them for yourself.
Just keep in mind that all of them are written in the Indonesian language and you won’t understand a single word I say, alright? ![]()
Some of you may be asking if I have any IM products that are in the English language.
I currently do not have a paying English product yet, but I have a Free report in English titled “Your First 100 Dollars Online” that will open your eyes to the world of Internet Marketing and show you how you can make your first $100 online.
So if you haven’t yet got yourself this report, go get it now. Hey it does not cost you a single red cent.
Having successfully launched two IM products with a third just a few days away, there are some lessons to be learned when it comes to creating your own products (now please take note that it applies to every niche, not just the IM niche):
1. You need to do some planning
You don’t have to plan every little smallest detail because if you do, you will probably suffer from too much planning and eventually not doing anything at all.
Most people who are planning to launch their products for the first time suffer from action paralysis because they plan too much and they go into too much detail.
Yes, you definitely need to do some planning, but just enough so that you know the crucial things that you need to take care of.
For me, doing some planning to launch a new product would include things like: registering a domain, hosting, setting up payment systems like PayPal to take orders, graphic design for the mini site, sales letter, product creation, etc.
2. You need to set specific datelines
After you have done some planning for your product launch, you need to set specific datelines for each individual task that you plan in step 1.
Specific datelines means doing such and such task by this date. For example, you might write down that you are going to get the graphic design for your mini site done by Monday, August 4, 2008.
Don’t just say ASAP (as soon as possible)! Because ASAP usually never comes. ![]()
3. What resources do you have available?
The next thing you need to take into account is what resources are available to you.
If you want to set up an affiliate script for your new product, do you know how?
Do you know how to design great looking mini sites with nice headers, footers, and 3D graphics for your new product?
If you are not good at these things, or if you don’t have a clue how to do it, it is best to out-task or outsource them to a professional.
Yes, you might end up spending more money; but you save yourself time which you can put to better use. Time that can be used to focus on the things that you are really good at.
Imagine if you know nothing about graphic design yet you try to design your mini site yourself. After spending tens of hours, you have just managed to design a mediocre header. Great!
4. Realize that you can’t be perfect
Just like nobody is perfect, no product out there is perfect either.
Especially when you are preparing your product to be launched to the market for the first time, it is okay for your product not to be perfect. ![]()
If you wait until your product is perfect before you actually launch it, you will never ever launch your product.
Just launch your product and improve it along the way. That is why a lot of products have version 1, version 2, version 3, etc.
The key here is to get your product out there, and everything else will follow ![]()
So those are the 4 tips about product creation that I have learned based on my experience in creating my 3 products. I hope you find them useful.
