continuity programs

In my last post, I explained what Internet continuity programs are and why they’re so profitable.

In this post, I’m going to show you how to build a successful continuity program - or to be more specific, How To Build A CONSISTENT Online Business FAST Using Continuity Programs so that you can REPLACE YOUR JOB!

Step 1 - Overcome Information Overload And Focus On ONE Thing Only

With all the information out there about making money online, I’m 100% sure that you’re suffering from information overload. The first step you need to do is to overcome this illness.

Stop chasing one business opportunity after another. Stop looking for the “next big thing” because there is no “next big thing”. There is only hype attached to the “next big thing”.

Focus your mind and attention on only ONE thing - and that is to build a CONSISTENT Online Business FAST so that you can REPLACE YOUR JOB. Ignore the rest that have nothing to do with this.

Please pay special attention to the word “CONSISTENT” - you want your income to be consistent month in and month out. So what if you can generate $1000 today but fail to make any money tomorrow and the day later.

What you want is CONSISTENT income every month so that you can have a REAL business and peace of mind.

Step 2 - Learn Direct Response Marketing Skills

When soldiers go to war and fight for their country, they equip themselves with weapons and shields. You need to do the same by equipping yourself with Direct Response Marketing skills.

Why?

You are a small entrepreneur with limited budget to spend on your online business, thus you need to make the best use of your money.

You can’t afford to spend (and WASTE) BIG money like all the Fortune 500 companies. Every dollar counts, which is why you MUST learn direct response marketing skills so that you spend your money wisely on things that do WORK!

Step 3 - Learn Technical Skills

A lot of the “make money online” sites and gurus say BOLDLY that you don’t need to have ANY technical skills at all to be able to succeed in your online business.

(worse, they claim that you only need to click a few buttons on your mouse and you’ll make thousands instantly…)

I COMPLETELY DISAGREE!

Don’t cringe first at the thought of learning technical skills…

What I’m saying is that you MUST, at the very least, learn basic technical skills such as:

- how to connect your domain and hosting together so that when people type www.yourdomain.com, they are actually directed to your website

- how to create a BASIC html static web page

- how to set up a WordPress blog from scratch

No, you don’t have to learn programming. You can outsource the programming stuff to professional programmers who know what they’re doing and who can do the job A LOT BETTER and MUCH FASTER than you.

Why don’t you also outsource the three skills I mentioned above as well?

Because if you outsource even the most basic skills such as these three skills, then you’d have to wait for your technical guy to fix it for you if you need to make even the smallest change to your web page. This will take up a lot of time with the back and forth communication. Another reason is of course to cut down your expenses.

Step 4 - Create Your High Quality Freebie

Make sure that you actually create a HIGH QUALITY freebie that you give away to your website visitors in exchange for their email addresses. Don’t simply put together some low quality PLR stuff and use it as your freebie.

This will hurt your image and brand, and once it’s tarnished, it’s VERY DIFFICULT to regain and make people trust you again.

Before you create your freebie, think of it as a paid product that you’re going to sell. This way, your mind will focus on delivering high quality content since it (your mind) thinks that it’s going to be a paid product.

Step 5 - Set Up Your Squeeze Page To Capture Leads

Now that you have your freebie ready, the next step is to set up a squeeze page to capture the names and email addresses of those people who requested your freebie.

The basic HTML skills that you’ve learned earlier (in step 3) will help a lot in creating and setting up a simple squeeze page.

Of course, you should have some nice and professional (but not too fancy) design to your squeeze page and freebie, and you can do that by outsourcing this to graphic designers. This will increase your squeeze page conversion rate.

Step 6 - Create Your Continuity Program

This is the MEAT of what your customers are paying you money for. They pay you money to access your VALUABLE content to solve their problems.

The content of your continuity program, of course, have to be GOOD (as should your FREE content).

When people give their names and email addresses to get your freebie, they should be IMMEDIATELY presented with your continuity program offer.

Why immediately?

Because as mentioned in my previous post, people’s interests change VERY QUICKLY all the time. If you don’t ask for the sale immediately, then they might no longer be interested in your topic a few days later.

And one more tip: you do NOT have to create ALL the content beforehand before you actually roll out your continuity program. In fact, you only need to have the first lesson created and you’re good to go.

Step 7 - Package Your Continuity Program To Make It SELL

With tight competition in almost every market, simply presenting your “naked” continuity program for sale is not going to be good enough.

You need to MASSIVELY PACKAGE your continuity program so that it becomes irresistible and really ENTICING. Package it in such a way so that if people do not take up your continuity offer, they’ll really miss out on a lot of good, cool stuff.

You want to make your prospects think like this in their minds:

Join your continuity program = I can solve my problems

Don’t join your continuity program = My problems remain unsolved and I’ll continute to feel excruciating PAIN

Step 8 - Generate Visitors To Your Squeeze Page

I’m sure you’ve heard and seen this a thousand times before, but without visitors to your website, then everything is useless.

You can have the best continuity program in the world, but if nobody knows the existence of your program, then not a single soul is going to join your program.

This means zero sales and zero profits.

Once you have your freebie, your irresistible continuity program that is MASSIVELY PACKAGED, then you can start driving traffic to your squeeze page.

A small percentage of that traffic will be your customers, and most will just be freebie seekers who won’t join your continuity program. This is perfectly fine, because in EVERY MARKET that you operate and sell information products in, there are only a small percentage of buyers compared to freebie seekers.

Step 9 - Build DEEP Relationships With Your Leads/Subscribers

After visitors opt-in to get your freebie, they are presented with your continuity program offer. Let’s say that the conversion rate for your continuity program is 2%. This means that for every 100 people who see your offer, only 2 join your program and the remaining 98 did not join.

So what happens to these 98 people?

Simply leave them alone?

NO WAY!

What you should do is to build deep, trusting, and beneficial relationships with them via email marketing. Remember that they’ve already given you their email addresses!

Give them cool and valuable content that will help them solve their problems, and give them on a CONSISTENT basis.

Frequency is key here.

The Internet is full of scams and is filled with tons of dishonest people. You want them to receive REPETITIVE exposure from you that will result in a POSITIVE perception of you being a nice, trustworthy person whom they regard as their trusted advisor.

Step 10 - Use KILLER Email Marketing Tactics To SELL Your Continuity Program

In Step 9, you build deep relationships with your subscribers by giving them valuable free content that they can use. In Step 10, you SELL your offer.

Simply giving away free content all the time won’t make you money. SELLING your continuity program will!

Therefore, even though you often give your subscribers free content, be sure to sell to them also. Otherwise ALL your efforts will be gone to waste.

The way to do this is to have a mixture of free content and sales pitch emails. For example, you can use the following tactic:

Email 1: Free content

Email 2: Sales pitch

Email 3: Free content

Email 4: Sales pitch

Etc.

Continuity Program Training (Lesson 1 Of 2)

continuity program

Just like 99% of the people out there, I started out part-time in my online business while maintaining a full-time day job.

(nope no continuity program of my own YET…)

I still remembered when I was just getting started back in 2006, I would wonder each night before I sleep when I was finally able to achieve a CONSISTENT monthly income so that I can do this full time.

Peace Of Mind

I kept thinking to myself when I can finally able to bring home a fix amount of income monthly that was able to support my life and lifestyle. Because I knew that if I can do that, I would have peace of mind.

(just a sidenote here - back then I was still a bachelor [hey I just got married last month ] and I live in Indonesia, which is fairly a cheap country to live in by American standards. Hence I only need a VERY DECENT amount of income to support and sustain my lifestyle  - considering I have no wife or kids to support back then).

I knew that if I can have peace of mind without having to worry if my income this month would cover my business costs, if it could support my lifestyle, then I can really focus my time and efforts to work on my Internet business and take it to the next level .

It doesn’t have to be mouth-watering income. Just an “okay” income that could support my (very basic and decent) lifestyle and that should be enough.

The Answer

I’ve heard about continuity programs a lot and it seems that having a continuity program of my own is the answer to my problem.

Just to make sure that you know what a continuity program is, a continuity program (from our perspective as a business owner) is a business where customers pay us a MONTHLY fee to access our products and/or services.

We see continuity programs every day, even though you may not be aware. For example, the hosting fee you pay every month is a type of continuity program. Your Internet service provider which you pay your monthly fee is another. Your cable TV provider is also another one.

Why Do Businesses Build Continuity Programs?

Because it’s VERY PROFITABLE. You see, there’s only a ONE-TIME INITIAL marketing cost to get that customer to join your continuity program for the FIRST TIME.

Once he joins your continuity program, he will pay you a monthly fee for using your product or service. This means that you incur ZERO marketing costs to attain this customer for the second, third, fourth, and subsequent months.

This translates to you achieving a very high profit margin for this customer since you only pay the marketing cost ONCE at the beginning of your interaction with him.

Your profit margin is going to be even higher if you run an Internet information business where your products are informational and digital in nature like showing and teaching people how to do this and that for a specific topic and delivering your teachings to customers electronically via digital downloads.

You don’t have any manufacturing costs, no inventory costs, and no delivery costs. Most of the time you only pay for hosting services ($10/month for shared hosting and can accommodate unlimited domains), your high speed Internet connection ($30/month), a domain name that you pay yearly ($10/year), and some initial investment in buying a computer and some software, and of course, your electricity bill.

Can you see the power of building a continuity program for your Internet business?

You get CONSISTENT monthly income EVERY month!

Here’s A Tip

When you sell your continuity program (sometimes known as “membership site” as well in the Internet marketing arena), do NOT use the word “continuity program” or “membership site” in your marketing messages.

Why?

Because people do NOT want to join a “continuity program” or a “membership site”. Instead use a much more appealing terminology such as “coaching program”.

Coaching program just sounds A LOT more valuable and personalized, and it’s perceived (at least by your customers) to be more “worth their money” than just a “continuity program” or “membership site”.

Think about it: I want you to answer me honestly…

Which one seems/sounds more attractive?

A coaching program that costs $20/month, or a continuity program that costs $20/month?

How about this: $20/month coaching program or $20/month membership site?

How Do You Build A Successful Continuity Program?

Okay, now that you know the importance of building a continuity business and generating CONSISTENT monthly income, the next question is: “how do you build one”?

Well, stay tuned for my next cool training as I’m going to reveal and show you how to do that - that is, How To Build A CONSISTENT Online Business so that you can REPLACE YOUR JOB fAST!

(…and please note FAST is different from INSTANT, because you need to treat this as a REAL business and work hard and smart to be able to successfully build a CONSISTENT business).

And one more thing…

Before you complain that REPLACING YOUR JOB is not appealing to you, think again.

Let me ask you this: I know there are A LOT of places online that teach you how to make a 6 figure per month online income. But if you’re struggling to make any money or if you’re only making a few hundred dollars every month, do you think you can make the BIG jump to a 6 figure every month?

HIGHLY UNLIKELY!

(this is, of course, contrary to what all the sites and gurus say out there… but well, they are just gurus and they don’t tell you the truth!)

Yes there may be a few people who can do that, but these people are EXCEPTIONS who produce EXCEPTIONAL results (and definitely NOT TYPICAL results)!

Learn to walk before you try to run okay?

Stay tuned for my lesson 2. I know you’ll love it!

What do you have to say about continuity program? I’d love to hear your thoughts, so be sure to leave them in a comment below…

Email List Building Is Wrong

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

email list building

… if you build the wrong list!

Almost every Internet marketer who knows what they’re doing is engaging in email list building activities.

As the famous saying goes “The money is in the list”…

(…by the way if you want to learn 2 proven ways to build your list fast, click here)

A Requirement

And no doubt about it, having a list to really make BIG money online is a requirement. You can argue that you make money via Adsense and as such you don’t need to build a list.

Well let me tell you that if you focus your time and effort instead on building your own list, building TRUSTING and MUTUALLY BENEFICAL relationships with this list, and presenting them offers that they’re interested in, you’ll earn SO MUCH MORE than just Adsense alone.

But making big money online, or should I say building a real Internet business, is not just about building ANY kind of list.

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see beginner and intermediate marketers alike make when they build their lists. I’m guilty of this mistake too (yes even to this present date I sometimes get sidetracked as well).

The BIG Mistake

The mistake I’m talking about is focusing on building a FREEBIE list.

What do I mean by that?

A Freebie list is a group of people who do NOT buy your products and services. And by FOCUSING your time and efforts on building this kind of list, you profits will be very INSIGNIFICANT.

You should instead FOCUS on building a BUYER list.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t build a freebie list. You should and must, because in order to build a buyer list, you first need to build a freebie list.

You build a FREEBIE list - you build relationships with this list so that your subscribers know, like, and trust you - you present them with low cost offers to get them to your BUYER list - you offer more value with your higher-priced products and services (backend).

This is where the real money is made - via the buyer list and NOT the freebie list.

Convert Freebie Seekers Into Buyers

Again, my point here is once you have a DECENT lead-generation system in place to pour in leads into your sales funnel on a consistent daily basis, you should think about converting as much of these freebie leads into your buyer list.

Do NOT wait until you have the perfect lead generation system before you convert them. Notice I use the word “DECENT lead-generation system” and not “SUPER lead-generation system” above? By decent, I mean it doesn’t have to be super powerful like generating 50 fresh leads per day. Even 20 or 30 leads per day are good enough (at least for the time being).

If you wait until you have a super powerful lead generation system before you start converting your freebie list into your buyer list, then you’ll be missing out on a lot of profits.

Want me to give you another strong reason why you should convert them as soon as possible?

People’s Interests Change All The Time

Well, people’s interest or “hotness towards a particular topic” change around a lot very quickly. For example, today I might be interested in learning how to play golf. Next week, I’m no longer interested in golf but instead interested in fishing.

Do you see where I’m going with this?

Since people’s interest change around a lot quickly, you want to make sure that you convert as much people in your freebie list into your buyer list as soon as you can. Because if you wait around too long, your subscribers may no longer be interested in your subject.

To build your own BUYER list, you need to have your own product. But don’t cringe at the thought of this yet, because creating your own information product can be done in 1 day or less.

How To Create Your Own Product In 1 Day Or Less

You simply interview an expert in your marketplace over Skype and record the interview and you have an audio product ready. If you want to learn more about how to create your own high quality information product in 1 day or less, go take a look at my Instant Product System guide.

Another tip for you: you can make money from your freebie list even before you have your own product and before you build your buyer list. The way to do this is to promote an affiliate product that is closely related to what your topic is about. For example, if you’re building an audience who are golf beginners who want to learn how to play golf well, then offer an affiliate product about learning how to play golf for beginners.

Never, ever wait until you have the perfect, super-duper lead generation system before you convert your freebie list into your buyer list. Because it will never be perfect. No system in the world is perfect.

Now that you understand the importance of a buyer list, go build one today. Leave your comments and thoughts below about email list building, as I’d LOVE to hear them…

Get Out Of Comfort Zone – I have. What About You?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

get out of comfort zone

Sometimes Most of the time, in business (and in life), to be able to make a breakthrough, you almost always need to get out of comfort zone (YES your own comfort zone) and do things that you’re really not comfortable with.

What do I mean by that?

Well, that just means doing things that you know ARE GOING to move you forward, even though doing them makes you uneasy and uncomfortable, so much so that you feel like giving up before you even try.

Everybody is guilty of this.

You and I are. So do your best friends, your friends, your colleagues. Everyone. PERIOD.

Let me illustrate a real life example.

Back in September, I FINALLY recorded a training video on how to do FAST backlink analysis using free tools. I was VERY nervous when I recorded that training video because of my CRAZY Asian accent. I was afraid that my audience (the majority of them being Americans by the way) wouldn’t have a clue what I was saying in the video.

Turns out I was DEAD wrong!

I received a number of comments on my blog and support desk THANKING me for the video and that it provided valuable and awesome training.

I was thrilled!

Who would have thought that an Indonesian guy with this crazy Asian accent would be thanked for making a training video? You know what was going through my mind BEFORE I made that video?

Yep, I was trying to convince myself:

“Nahhh I can’t do it. My audience won’t even know what the heck I’m talking about. I have this Asian accent, so it’s impossible!”

But I went ahead and made that video ANYWAY and REGARDLESS of what was going to happen. And I was in for a surprise because my audience actually liked it…

…And boy was I thankful and glad that I made it! If I hadn’t made it, I wouldn’t be making more training videos now (more on this in a moment…)

The point I’m trying to get across to you is:

Doing things that you know will move you forward, even though you’re NOT comfortable with doing it, will pave a way that will lead you closer towards SUCCESS.

You will be a step closer to your goal.

This is true. Try it before you whine and make any negative judgments.

If I hadn’t made that video, I will always be wondering (for the rest of my life most likely) if I really could share my knowledge and expertise through videos.

And the answer to that will most likely be “NO, I can’t possibly do video training because of my Asian accent bla bla bla”.

And this WILL hunt me for the rest of my life. I know it will…

Here’s what I’ve learned by getting out of my comfort zone:

1. Your original fear BEFORE you step out of your comfort zone is very insignificant. Most of the time, you’re A LOT better than what you think of yourself, so give yourself more credit!

2. Doing that uncomfortable thing that you really don’t like for the FIRST time is the hardest. Once you’ve done that for first time, doing it for the second and consecutive times become much easier and more natural.

3. You’ll be REALLY glad that you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone because by doing so, you’ll inevitably move forward in whatever you’re trying to achieve. Why? Because you’ve just learned how to overcome your fears by doing things that you really are not comfortable with.

When similar circumstances occur in the future that require you to step out of your comfort zone, you’ll be ready.

Because of that training video I made in September, I’m using my courage I attained by the thankful and grateful comments about that video to make more additional training videos.

(…just a little side note, I’m currently in the process of creating a coaching program where I show and teach people how to build a real, profitable Internet business from scratch; more information on this coaching program to follow, so stay tuned okay?)

Almost all of my interactions with YOU so far (with the exception of that first training video I made in September) have always been in the form of text. I want to connect more with my audience, my prospects, and my customers on a DEEPER level.

And that means YOU!

So you can expect more video interaction from me in the future (and please forgive my CRAZY Asian accent and FOCUS instead on the VALUE I’m delivering on these videos alright?)

Anyway, that’s all for me now.

What are your thoughts on stepping out of YOUR own comfort zone? Have you stepped out of your comfort zone or are you simply just one of those persons who PROCRASTINATES all the time by LYING to yourself “Yeah I’m gonna do that SOON… but not now since I’m so busy with bla bla bla…”

Come on PROCRASTINATORS; defend yourself by proving me wrong. Leave your public statement below that you’re going to get out of your comfort zone TODAY!

Information Product Marketing – Why Pay When You Can Get It Free?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Why pay for information product when you can get them for free?

Before I present today’s information product marketing training, I want to let you in a little on my personal life. Since you’re my loyal subscriber and reader, I REALLY want to build a deeper connection with you.

Why I Haven’t Updated My Blog In A Month

As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t updated my blog in 1 month. The reason is because I was busy preparing for my wedding, which was held on a beautiful Sunday, 15 November 2009. I’m really happy that I’ve found my significant other, and below you can see a few pictures taken from my wedding celebration:

Welly Wedding 1

Welly Wedding 2

Welly Wedding 3

I’m entering a new phase in my life now, and I’m planning to achieve greater things in my Internet business as well, so wish me luck!

Okay, that’s a little insight into my personal life. Now let’s get back to today’s training.

Do You Want To Pay For Info Products?

There are marketers selling information products all the time. No matter what field you go into, there are bound to be information products for sale, with the price of these items ranging from a mere $1 to thousands of dollars.

With the Internet and Google (and other search engines) at our fingertips, searching for information that we want to acquire becomes dead easy and convenient.

The same information that is contained within paid informational products can be found for free all over the Internet…

…and yet there are TONS of people still willing to part with their hard-earned money to buy paid informational products rather than getting them from the Internet for free.

If the price is only a mere $1 or $7, it’s still understandable.

But why do people still want to buy $1000 and $2000 home study courses that teach them to do this and that when they can get the same information for free (or almost free  apart from the cost of your PC and Internet connection)?

All things being equal, EVERYONE would definitely choose not to pay if they were given a choice. People like FREE. I like it and so do you. No contest about that.

Why People Are Willing To PAY (instead of getting it for FREE)

To answer why SOME people would pay rather than get it free, let me share the following real story…

I sell information products. Once in a while, I receive complaints from people saying that the same information contained in my PAID product can be obtained for free from the Internet, and they whined that I should give it away for free too.

My response to these people is:

“Sure you can get the same information for free. In fact, of all the paid information products out there you can get almost all, if not all, of the same information that is contained within those products for free.

The reason why I and many other information product creators are charging you money is because we have the required ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE of the information you’re seeking. By buying our products, you are effectively saving tons of your TIME. You’re also saving tons of MONEY because you don’t have to commit the same mistakes that we have already committed previously.

OUR mistakes (that cost time and money) = YOUR gain

You avoid (or lessen your) mistakes. You save time and money as a result. You’re essentially buying our RESEARCH time and EXPERT knowledge on the subject. ”

So the next time someone complains about you selling them information they can get it for free, explain to them (in a kind manner of course) just like what I’ve explained above.

Focus On Good Paying Customers

Most of the time, after you’ve explained to them, you’ll never hear from them again…

…which is perfectly fine since this type of people are not our target customers anyway. The very fact that they’re expecting our info products for free when we have put so much time and effort creating them (our products) reveals their poor attitude and believe me; they WILL NOT buy your products.

Leave them and focus on servicing your good customers.

What are your thoughts about PAID information product marketing? What do you think about paid info products compared to free info readily available on the Internet? Please leave them in a comment below…
