Blog Commenting Plus (+)

blog commenting seo

Blog Commenting SEO Plus – We all need traffic. Whether you are a blogger who sells ad space, an affiliate marketer who sells other people’s products, or an info product creator who sells your own products, you need traffic.

No visitors mean no money. Period.

There are a lot of ways to get traffic to your site and I’m not going to talk about all of them in this post. Instead, I’m going to talk about one way to generate traffic to your site, which I call Blog Commenting Plus.

What exactly is Blog Commenting Plus?

You’ve no doubt known what blog commenting is all about. You find relevant blogs in your marketplace and you leave your comment on one or more of their blog posts. This achieves three things:

1. You build relationship with the blog owner (when you leave multiple comments on his blog).

2. You get direct traffic from visitors who visit the blog. The more traffic the blog receives, the more traffic you can potentially receive.

3. You get SEO (search engine optimization) benefits because you gain a one-way link from the blog to your site.

Most people stop there.

However, with Blog Commenting Plus, you go further…

Blog Commenting Plus is essentially blog commenting, but with an additional twist. Instead of just commenting on other people’s blogs, you also social bookmark their blog posts that you have left comments on.

For example, let’s say you leave your comment below this post. Don’t just stop there! After leaving your comment, what you want to do is social bookmark this post to the various social bookmarking sites on the net.

The benefits of doing this are the same as the above 3 benefits I’ve explained, PLUS:

4. You get MORE direct traffic from social bookmarking sites, even though the number of visitors you get from this is mediocre (unless you produce a really masterpiece content).

5. You get MORE SEO benefits because of the one-way links from those social bookmarking sites to your site.

6. You can’t ONLY social bookmark your own site all the time. Your account will be deleted if you do this. By social bookmarking other sites (in this case blogs where you have left comments on), you appear more natural in the eyes of the social bookmarking sites.

The next time you do blog commenting, be sure to take it one step further by social bookmarking the posts where you have left comments on.

In other words, engage in Blog Commenting Plus.

TIP:

After you’ve social bookmarked other people’s posts, make sure to tell the respective blog owners that you have social bookmarked their post.

Guess what this will do for you?

Yep, they are going to think: “Wow this guy actually took the time to social bookmark my post. He is such a nice guy!”

Though you have other intentions for doing this, not every blog owner knows what they (your intentions) are, especially those outside the blogging and internet marketing field. They will just think you are a nice guy.

And a nice guy is liked by almost everyone, and people are likely to return the favor of this nice guy should he need help in the future.

Wouldn’t you?

So now you know what to do right? Go ahead and leave a comment down below AND then social bookmark this post (hehe I’m cunning right?) using socialmarker.com (free tool).

Thanks for some great tips on commenting and social bookmarking (will do this for you as well). Commenting is a good way to get your site seen by others, so long as one does not spam. This irritates me more than I can say as everyday I have to waste valuable time removing the spam from my blog.

I’ve been doing some blog commenting myself and I think it really does help with SE optimization. I just find it too tiresome to manually do it by myself and takes up too much time. But hey, nothing’s free in this world right?

here are many “SEO Gurus” that will tell you commenting on blogs can boost your pageranking a lot. These gurus are also the ones with page rank of 0.
You might be asking this question to yourself, “Why should I even bother with commenting then?” Because you want to get noticed! Posting comments like “nice post!” will not get you noticed. You want to add value into the discussion, and that will get the author of the blog to notice you. Ask good questions or let the author know about something that was missing in the post. Those two are just basic ideas.

Blog commenting is the most important and most popular part of web 2.0 marketing. we should consider few things before make any blog comments: 1st one is, our target must be to generate a relationship with the owner, not to spam about the product. another thing that we must consider is about the topic. i mean we must put relevant comment. blog commenting gives us traffic and ranking both. btw you have provided us a valuable information. i have shared your this article on facebook because it really seems unique.

One way to reward your visitors for their participation is to install a dofollow plugin on your blog. From my experience dofollow plugins do not necessarily encourage more spam. You get spam even if you set your comment links to nofollow.

  • articles tube on June 21, 2010

Yes. I am totally agree with soniya. Blog commenting is one of the fantastic way to build back links. But when people start spamming on them all the links should be removed.

You’re cunning alright =) Anyway, if both parties benefit, then there is really nothing wrong with that. Thanks!

  • Search submission on May 26, 2010

Blog commenting is an essential part of web 2.0. Blogging is two-way communication medium, which means that a blogger must focus not only writing great content on his or her own blog but also interact and engage other bloggers (and their readers), including leaving comments on other blogs.

I never knew the use of those buttons and I really never used them. I learned a lot of things today: what are they for, how you can benefit from them and also, very important, that even the social bookmarking sites could ban your account. Very helpful indeed, and this is the reason why i bookmarked your article ;)

  • I’d really have to be in an EXCELLENT mood to retweet every article/blog posts I read online ;-) . It’s a nice idea as it’s kinda a sign of appreciation for the author’s efforts. I’ve retweeted this post ;-)

    Hi Welly,

This is a simple but Very effective method of gaining popularity, however it MUST not be abused. Used in the correct fashion will over time increase your ranking on many factors. Votes do count, especially high PR.

    Onward and upward

    Marcus

    • Welly on May 11, 2010

Definitely. Don’t over do it by social bookmarking dozens of times per day. Do it once or twice per day and you should be fine.

      Welly

      • Online Marketing on July 28, 2011

Welly you are correct about social bookmarking overdo of social bookmarking in a day is not useful much as doing less every day because search engine fetches these links from bookmarking sites on some time interval so daily bookmarking is beneficial then doing huge only one day.
